HYPERHIDROSIS
(THE TREATMENT OF EXCESSIVE SWEATING)

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that manifests itself through excessive sweating and occurs without a trigger. Sweating usually occurs when it is hot outside, during sports or when people are in unpleasant, tense situations or when emotions increase strongly.

There are several types of hyperhidrosis:

PRIMARY HYPERHYDROSIS  – more common in endocrine diseases such as diabetes or hyperthyroidism.

HIPERHIDROZA GENERALIZATĂ – this is located in the axillary or in the palms, soles, face.

HOW BOTULIN TOXIN WORKS (BOTOX)

Botox treatment is one of the best treatments for axillary hyperhidrosis.
Botulinum toxin works by blocking certain nerves, causing to diminish or temporarily disappear the sweating.

HOW DOES THE TREATMENT UNFOLD?

After talking to Dr. Pascal, the area where the treatment will be injected , will be marked.
An anesthetic cream can be applied (if the patient wishes).
The injections are made with a very fine needle.
The procedure is painless and short.
The effect is installed gradually, in about 3-5 days after the intervention, up to a maximum of one week.
The botulinum toxin injections last between 6 and 8 months.

Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for 24 hours after the procedure.
It is forbidden to epilate the area for at least 1 week.
Intense exercise, sauna, jacuzzi or anything that would cause overheating for at least 1 week should be avoided.
