BREAST IMPLANT (SILICONE)

The patient can resume daily activity 2-3 days after surgery.

Light exercises can be started progressively 2 weeks after the operation date.

The edema and bruising will not go away until a few weeks later.

Massage of liposuctioned areas with the name of lymphatic massage can be started immediately after the disappearance of bruises and swellings.

The results of the operation will be completely visible after at least 6 months, when the resulting scars will fade.

The operation is recommended when:

·  There is an asymmetry of the breasts with a smaller or larger volume that can be balanced by inserting the silicone implant;

·   Breasts do not have the desired volume, if they were beautiful and voluminous but over time due to pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight changes now have an unsightly appearance;

·     Correction of a congenital breast defect, such as tubular breasts.

ROUND OR ANATOMICAL IMPLANTS

There are two types of implants: round and anatomical.

ROUND IMPLANTS

The effect created is soft, round and proportioned breasts. It is good to know that round implants increase the breasts at both the top and the bottom.

ANATOMICAL BREAST IMPLANT

The anatomical implant has the shape of a tear, it contains a thicker gel that corresponds to the normal anatomy of the breast, which makes this type of implant maintain its stable shape and give a more natural look.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR THE OPERATION

Dr. Pascal recommends a set of tests that can consist of:

·         Blood Tests;

·         Imaging investigations;

·         Breast ultrasounds – in young patiens;

·         Mammography – in patients over 40 years of age or for the evaluation of suspicious lesions.

It is recommended to quit smoking at least 2 weeks before the operation.

During the consultation you will discuss your expectations from breast implant surgery.

The shape and size of the breasts will be assessed in relation to the thoracic perimeter. The breasts and axillary regions will be palpated, to assess the consistency of the tissues, in the possible presence of tumors and lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes).

It will be seen if there are asymmetries in the shape, size and position of the breasts. During the consultation with Dr. Pascal, the type of implant and its size will be established.

HOW DOES THE BREAST IMPLANT SURGERY GOES?

Total anesthesia is used.

The incision is made in the submammary, pariareolar groove.

The insertion of breast implants is done under the pectoral muscle or under the breast tissue above the pectoral muscle; it depends on the type of breast implants you have chosen.

Close the incision so that the scars will be minimal.

POSTOPERATIVELY

You will feel tired and the discomfort will be moderate in the first 2-3 days. The pain will go away with medication. You will stay in the hospital overnight.

It is necessary to wear a bustier, on a case-by-case basis, Dr. Pascal will recommend the period. The next day you can go outside, and when you get home, you can take off your bustier to take a shower.
